Question about sleeping with a CPAP machine and neck problems?

I have sleep apnea and have been sleeping with a CPAP machine for about a month now (I use the mask that just goes over my nose). I have had neck problems for the past 10 years or so and in the beginning of using the machine I was fine. Now, about a month into using it I am finding that I will wake up in the middle of the night and my neck is in so much pain I end up having to take the machine off. I do sleep on my side and im not sure if this is why, but I have a hard time staying on my back. Have any of you experienced this same problem and if so, what did you do to help it? I really need to keep using the machine but am in so much pain at night that I think its going to be hard for me to continue. Thanks in advance!

Go to the company that first issued your c-pap machine to you ... if your mask fitting is incorrect, they can readjust it for you for optimum affect with little or no pain to your neck... or supply you with an entirely different mask... I use the full mouth/nose mask because I do not normally breathe through my nose... I also have had SEVERE neck problems for 58 years (a birth defect called Klipple-Feil Syndrome) but my c--pap causes my neck no pain...(after it was adjusted properly).... Also, PLEASE be aware that having sleep apnea can become a VERY SERIOUS thing if you do NOT wear your c-pap... I didn't realize I had sleep apnea until about 2 years ago when I suffered an attack of congestive heart failure AND pulmonary hypertension---which, I was told by my pulmonologist was a DIRECT CAUSE of having untreated sleep apnea.... I now have been told I have less then 5 years to live because of this... by the way, I don't know who your c-pap provider is, but mine is a company called LINCARE and they have always been extremely helpful with any problems I have had with any of the 3 machines I use from them (nebulizer, c-pap and oxygen condensor)....

Sleeping disorder? Sleep apnea?

I feel much better at night than during the day. I have very, very extreme depression in general but at night, my thought process it much clearer and positive(compared to day). I find it easier to exercise, work, eat, ect. I also have mild sleep apnea with about 15 AHI. I've trained myself to sleep at night and get up at about 8am but it never felt natural to me.
Is there a name for this condition? Should I just buy a coffin and start drinking blood?
I have been trying to use a Cpap machine for about a year with no success. I always rip it off in the middle of the night without remembering.

Interesting case. I need to know if you use a cpap machine at night as this would help your sleep apnea, depression, and daytime blues. Let me know.

Sleep disorders symptoms are strange and nightmare, sometimes known as sleep terror or night terrors are no exception. It's 1 of the frightening forms of sleep disorders symptoms. They involve dreams that frighten the person sufficient that they wake up only to discover that they had been dreaming. Everyone has had a nightmare at some stage in their lives. They generally occur many hours after an individual falls asleep, during the REM stage when there's general body paralysis and active dreaming is taking place.

Kids are specifically prone to having sleep disorder symptoms for the reason that their brains are still developing, particularly between the ages of 3 to twelve. A little percentage experience multiple sleep disorders symptoms including nightmares which may be quite frightening to a child.

Whereas nightmares happen throughout the REM stage of sleep, night terrors occur throughout the first few hours of sleep, the deep non-REM stage. They generally happen at the same time and frequently involves screaming, crying or moaning. There's rapid breathing plus the heart rate increases, and an episode can last many minutes to an hour. The child's eyes are open but the cognitive component of the brain is still asleep.

A easy psychological method that can aid anyone get over a recurring nightmare would be to draw an image of what the terror is and then rip the paper to pieces. Sure the brain is smart but there are methods to trick it. As in every single sleep disorders symptoms, if these symptoms continue, a psychologist needs to be consulted. Just bear in mind that this is normally not a sign of any mental disorder.
